| Originally I had a page with the shots of Beaumaris castle, but something
has happened to that particular page since it has magically disappeared!
Anyway I am reconstructing this page based on memory and reflections after
being in Beaumaris nearly 6 months ago! After getting off the bus
I immediately made my way to the castle, it was just up the street from
the bus stop.
Beaumaris castle has some 14 various defenses and is Edward I's most technical castle that he built. For instance when you enter the castle the successive gates are offset, forcing you to expose a flank. There were many archways where the defenders of the castle could do all sorts of mean nasty things to intruders. Some of the views from the castle are incredible. Here is a sample of what a defender would see from the castle walls Inside the castle there was this little chapel. I took two photographs, one from the entrance and one from the alter. Finally, outside the castle. |
