| After leaving Scotland I visited Belgium and
eventually hooked up with Lien, Evelyn and Hilde in Gent. Gent is
this university town and a really hip place to hang out for a few days.
I wandered around the Cathedral a few times and eventually decided to take
a picture of this podium. I'm not certain if they use it, seems to
be there for decoration. It also took about 30 minutes to get this
photo since a tour bus came in while I was trying to get the picture.
Gent also has some wonderful bell towers you can climb. This device is what makes the bells work and play whatever song they program. It was pretty cool. I hung out until it played a song to watch the machine work.
This is also in the same room and it's the gears for the clock on the bell tower. Really cool device.
