| The long wait is over! I'm finally back in London where there's decent bandwidth
to the 'net. The particular internet cafe I'm hanging in today will close
in three hours so here are a few select pictures of Oxford for your viewing
pleasure!
In Oxford there are dozens of colleges to walk around. Colleges are typically build around a quadrangle, or a quad. I didn't walk through the quad of Christ Church, but here's a picture from the back lot. Also, part of the path around the college was closed due to foot & mouth. St Mary the Virgin is an ancient church and they'll let you walk around inside and take pictures. Inside they have a lot of cool things, most of the pictures I have of St Mary the Virgin need to be rotated, but here's one of some stained glass. The work is very detailed, it's incredible. I did a walking tour of Trinity college, it was cheap only £1! I snapped a few photo's whilst enjoying the sun and checking out the original quad. Trinity college, like most of the original colleges have dorms and a chapel onsite. This is a picture of the ceiling in Trinity college's chapel. It was a pain in the ass to take this shot, I think I resorted to just laying on my back.. luckily there weren't too many people around! These are a few pictures from Carfax tower, right at the corner of Cornmarket, the High Street and St Alldates. The first photo is a shot down St Alldates. The second photo is down the High Street. You can see the Radcliff Camera, St Mary the Virgin and part of the High Street. Ok, more new pictures (8 July 2001): |
